Tries were scored this week by Billy Vincent who led the offence with the first try of the game (2), Martin Meincke (2), Jude Paneda (2), Caleb Beri (2), Peter Lucas (2) and Luca Towers (1). Over 20 rips were made by our team. A great game was also played by our youngest member Harry Lucas who almost managed to overcome his tired legs to play a full game which was a great effort!

Marist v Grey Valley
Marist played Grey Valley at the Marist ground on Saturday in slippery, chilly conditions. The teams braved an early shower of rain and treated spectators to a fierce battle of under 6 rugby.
Both teams were evenly matched in skill and speed, with James van der Geest and Eamon O’Keefe working really hard on defence. Marist’s Player of the Day, Frank O’Gara played a much straighter attacking game, running strongly and scoring 2 tries, backed up well by Marist’s Most Improved Player, Liam Galbraith. O’Keefe, van der Geest and Mackley Fahey scored twice with Callan McGuire-Lowe, Max Walklin and Elliot van der Geest scoring a try a piece.

Young Max Walklin has turned out to be a real dark horse so far this season. It is his first season playing rugby and he is dominating the attacking play with good, strong runs and he is showing a natural talent for the defensive aspects of the game. Definitely one to watch in the future.
